Making hay whilst the sun shines …
We’ve been super busy this week, making the most of this incredible dry heatwave and that’s our haymaking all done for another year at Hall Farm.
There’s something so wonderfully satisfying and very pleasing about knowing the Winter food for the horses is all tucked up safe and sound in the barn. Looking across the meadow at sunset, with the perfectly rectangular grass bundles waiting patiently to be brought in, makes the thought of dark Winter nights a much happier prospect.
The ever changing views from The Old Tractor Shed are so different and magical with each season, and yet each spectacle is so perfectly English. From the low mists of Autumn to the cobweb dew of Spring grass, the waving Summer hay and the crisp Winter mornings, there is a sense of perpetual novelty and change in nature, which makes country life invigorating. Life in nature is exuberant and calming at the same time. Who would want to be anywhere else?
“I suppose the pleasure of country life lies really in the eternally renewed evidences of the determination to live” – Vita Sackville-West
We love to share the magic of the English countryside with our guests. Why not escape the stress, noise, and pollution of the city? A healthy body and a healthy mind need the healing calm and peace of the country life whatever the season. Take time out with us.
