A Walk Through History

The Bosworth 1485 Sculpture Trail is a 12-mile walking route that weaves through the stunning countryside surrounding Dadlington, Sutton Cheney, Market Bosworth and the Bosworth Battlefield area. Along the route, visitors discover a series of striking sculptures that tell the story of the Battle of Bosworth, one of the most significant events in English history.

The trail takes walkers on a journey through the landscape where King Richard III fought his final battle in 1485, bringing history to life through art, interpretation panels and beautiful rural scenery.

Below images show the Sutton Cheney interpreation board, the sculpture ‘The Calm Before the Storm’ with the Hercules Revived gastro pub in the backgroud (ideal for a stop during your walk) and the ‘Piecing Together the Past’ sculpture that can be seen the the Battlefield Heritage Centre (where you’ll find the Tithe Barn cafe)

Discover “The Healing” in Dadlington

One of the trail’s most moving sculptures, “The Healing”, can be found at St James the Greater Church in Dadlington, just a short walk from Hall Farm. The sculpture reflects on reconciliation following the Wars of the Roses and commemorates the local connections to those who lost their lives in the Battle of Bosworth.
