Top 5 “Must Dos” for your stay at Hall Farm Dadlington

Our guests have been enjoying walking and eating out in the local area and seem to share our opinions of the Top 5 Favourites!

1.  A visit to Hercules Revived – this adorable little coaching inn is a 4 minute drive or a 36 minute walk by road (or you can get most of the way there by towpath) and has a cute outdoor dining area with marquee.  The food is outstanding and we just love the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.  Booking is essential.
2.  A mooch around Visit Market Bosworth – this picturesque rural market town, just a 10 minute drive (4.4 miles) has a wonderful market square and beautiful architecture, and is home to a host of independent shops, pubs and cafés.  Most definitely worth a visit!  There are markets on Wednesday and on the last Sunday of the month and plenty of food and drink establishments.  For the more active guest, you can walk to Bosworth via Sutton Cheney, on the footpath to Bosworth Country Park, or via the Gated Road.  Some choose to park up at Sutton Cheney and then take the footpath to avoid road walking.

3.  A visit to Bosworth Battlefield & Heritage Centre.  Our local area is steeped in history – The Old Tractor Shed is situated right on the edge of the Battlefield, the site of the last battle of the War of Roses in which Henry Tudor defeated Richard III.  You can walk from The Old Tractor Shed in Dadlington, via the canal towpath to the Wharf Café at Sutton Cheney and then on through the majestic Ambion Wood to the Battlefield Centre.  One of the most popular local walks.
4.  A visit to Twycross Zoo – home to the largest collection of monkeys and apes in the Western World. In 2006 re-launched itself as “Twycross Zoo – The World Primate Centre”
5.  A walk to the George & Dragon – last, but most certainly not least!  A relaxed and warm welcome with good pub food, this traditional Church End Brewery pub is a 15 minute walk down the lane from Hall FArm to the village of Stoke Golding and an easy stagger home!  Booking essential for diners.
